Death was an American death metal band formed in Orlando, Florida in 1983 by guitarist and vocalist Chuck Schuldiner, widely regarded as the founding father of death metal. Their 1991 album Human is considered one of the greatest technical death metal albums ever recorded, featuring groundbreaking musicianship and a more progressive approach to the genre. Chuck Schuldiner passed away in 2001, leaving behind an unmatched legacy.
